A unique South African bush safari experience in the Klein Karoo Oudtshoorn.

Joe and I have been aware of Buffelsdrift since previous trips to Oudtshoorn. This time around we decided that it would be the perfect time to book the tour. We went on an early morning game drive for ±2 hours. There are quite a few lodges in the area so you will most likely to see another game vehicle while out and about. Alex, the driver was very knowledgeable about the animals and we loved the bumpy ride into the reserve being within reach of such wonderful animals is mind-blowing. During the initial stages of the drive, animal sightings were rare, but we saw a lot more as the tour progressed. We saw a wide range of animals, including Hippos, Elephant, Giraffe, Eland, Buffalo, Rhino, Springbok and much more. In addition to a stop for refreshment beverages halfway through the tour atop a ridge overlooking the Swartberg Mountain, there were also several stops along the way to be close to the animals. This was also a good opportunity to take note of the beautiful plants and flowers. On this tour, you can expect to experience true Karoo vegetation from the open game vehicle from this scenic point.  The viewpoint from atop is amazing. More safari operations should adopt this practice, it is a great break from being in the vehicle and affords a chance to talk to your fellow safari mates.
